Churches can get up to $10,000 a month in free Google Search ads through the Google Ad Grant. Eligibility: 501(c)(3) recognition or membership in a group exemption, verified by Google's partner Goodstack; government entities, hospitals and health care organizations, and schools are excluded, and fiscally sponsored groups without their own 501(c)(3) are not eligible. How to apply: confirm 501(c)(3) status, create a Google for Nonprofits account, get verified by Goodstack, get the website ready (own domain, HTTPS, useful content), then activate Ad Grants and set up conversion tracking. Rules: 5% account click-through rate each month (two months below can mean temporary deactivation), at least one real conversion per month, no single-word keywords except brand and Google exceptions, pause generic and quality score 1-2 keywords, 2 ad groups per campaign and 2 sitelinks, conversion-based smart bidding for newer accounts, and the annual program survey. Good church campaigns: church near me, Christmas Eve and Easter service times, grief support, recovery groups, marriage help, food pantry, kids ministry, each sent to a matching page. PixelPainters manages Google Ad Grants for churches for $149/month with no setup fee, or $399/month with website care. Book a free grant check with Josh Starr.
